RMIHR bases our vehicle classifications on the drivetrain and suspension modifications that have been done to the vehicle. Our Show & Shine is not a concours show and makes no attempt to be. Interior, paint, bumpers and aftermarket wheels (within the tire size constraints listed) have no bearing on what class your vehicle belongs in for judging at RMIHR.
Please attempt to classify your vehicle correctly on your registration using the guidelines below. The RMIHR Committee reserves the right to reclassify a vehicle depending on how it is presented at the time of check in. If you have any questions about what class it belongs in, please mention it at check in and we’ll take a look and make sure it’s in the correct class. The RMIHR Show & Shine Committee Chairman will have the final decision in any dispute. These guidelines may change your Class from previous years if you’ve attended the show before.
In the following classes, your truck belongs in the highest class in which it has any ONE of the modification listed. Go down the list until you find a class that your truck has ONE of the listed modifications. That is the class in which it belongs.
STOCK (Street)
Stock should be vehicles used mainly for daily transportation, weekend use, or for some other specific purpose (other than shows or judged competitions) on a regular basis. This class is for restored or original unrestored vehicles that have not been modified in any way. They should have factory (stock) parts with allowable exceptions, such as radio, tires, battery, hoses, belts and other normal maintenance type items.
MILD
Mild modified vehicles do not meet the” Stock” criteria. Modifications to the vehicle should not be too extreme. This class would include engine upgrades, i.e. a 392 engine in a Scout.
WILD
Wild modified vehicles do not meet “Stock” or “Mild” criteria and, although specialized for off-road or other purpose, are still “street-able”
EXTREME
Extreme modified vehicles do not meet the prior classes’ criteria and are highly modified for off-road (noncompetitive) use. They are generally not “street-able”.
CRAWLER
This class is typically voluntarily selected by the registrant, and competes against all other vehicles in the class regardless of model or year. The exception to that is your vehicle MUST be in the CRAWLER class if it has ANY of the following modifications:

These classes are selected by the registrant, and compete against all other vehicles in that class regardless of model or year. If you think it fits your IH, you are welcome to select any of these classes to be judged in
SHOW
Show vehicles are either un-restored originals or full restorations. They are preserved primarily for show and judging competitions.
WORK/COMMERCIAL
This is the class for vehicles actually used as work trucks. Some previous entrants have been a Model 800 Scout converted and used for a mobile farrier (horse shoeing) business and a medium duty low profile truck which hauled in a trailer full of Scout parts for a vendor.
COMPETITION
Obviously, this is the class for vehicles specifically built for various types of racing events.
